... I think I met a lot of people, the other day. I do like the curse days like that- that are mostly harmless... and let people do things they may not necessarily regret.

That's nice- Though I didn't get one woman's name... and the other- Thank you, for helping me with my groceries, Sir Carl.

Really, if you ever need a good meal, I'd like to repay you. It was very kind of you, curse or no-

Ah... this letter won't come off.

C... ? I think I know what that means.

[ooc; Scarlet Letter curse~]

Oh, of course! Erm... sorry about that. It's rather embarrassing, realizing you've been running about the City in your nightclothes pretending to be an errant knight. I'm usually just a friar, so no 'sir' is necessary.

Carmine, isn't it? Thank you, and I would be more than happy to accept that offer, although I must assure you that carrying groceries isn't a feat that requires repayment.

A friar? I see- Carl is alright then? I'm unsure of religious titles...

Mm. It's... I like cooking, so.

Friar Carl: Night cap[info]somekindofsin on February 6th, 2009 11:54 pm (UTC)
More or less, yes. 'Carl' is entirely fine, of course.

Well! That works out nicely; I like eating, although I can't cook a decent meal to save myself.
Havoc: Feeding[info]letslip on February 6th, 2009 11:58 pm (UTC)
Do you have any favorites?
Friar Carl: Dammit[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 12:02 am (UTC)
No, no--I'll eat absolutely anything, and enjoy it immensely.

This doesn't seem like a fair trade, really. Do you have anything that you might need fixed? I... ah, I invent things, if you need something.
Havoc: Nearly Okay[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 12:05 am (UTC)
Invent things?

Ah, so... if my toaster breaks, I'll call?
Friar Carl: I'm explaining[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 12:16 am (UTC)
Weapons, primarily--explosives, modified blades, steam-powered semi-automatic crossbows, that sort of thing. I suppose I could come up with most anything, though, given time.

Please do!
Havoc: Chewing[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 12:17 am (UTC)
Oh, dear... that sounds... a little violent?
Friar Carl: What's wrong?[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 12:25 am (UTC)
Well, yes. Something of a necessity when you're working for the world's primary defense against monsters, unfortunately.
Havoc[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 04:08 am (UTC)
Monsters?
Friar Carl: I'm explaining[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 05:35 am (UTC)
Er. It's rather difficult to define "monster," but, as a rule, any supernatural entity that poses a threat to humanity.
Havoc[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 05:36 am (UTC)
Ah, that sort of world... it sounds dangerous.
Friar Carl: Dammit[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 05:46 am (UTC)
Terribly dangerous! Well, out in the field, at least... which is why I'm not much of a field man.

What about your world? Do you have any village-destroying creatures roaming about?
Havoc: This Feeling[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 06:14 am (UTC)
Well, I'm glad. it sounds safer out of the field.

... Contractors. We have those. ... Who could count as "village destroying creatures", depending on the power.
Friar Carl: Miffed[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 06:18 am (UTC)
It is, considerably!

Oh? What sort of monsters are they--demonic, humanoid?
Havoc: Speak[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 06:20 am (UTC)
Human killing machines.

With no emotions. Only logic.
Friar Carl: Uh oh[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 06:26 am (UTC)
Oh my.

That might very well be worse than anything supernatural.
Havoc: Floating[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 06:28 am (UTC)
... it depends.

They vary in power... and cost. But in the end... they're all the same, somehow.
Friar Carl: Oh-em-gee[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 06:33 am (UTC)
Cost?

Do you fight them, then, or how do you convince them to leave?
Havoc: Defeat[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 06:37 am (UTC)
Normal humans don't really... stand a chance. Unless fully briefed and prepared...
Friar Carl: You need a hug.[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 06:45 am (UTC)
That's the case with most monsters, regardless of what they are.
Havoc: Emotionless[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 06:46 am (UTC)
... true.
Friar Carl: Night cap[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 06:50 am (UTC)
Are you entirely alright, Carmine?
Havoc: Softened[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 06:52 am (UTC)
... Sorry.

Bad memories.
Friar Carl: Dammit[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 07:00 am (UTC)
Nothing to worry about! Sorry for bringing them up.
Havoc: A Kindness[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 07:05 am (UTC)
It was a long time ago-

Ah. When would be good- for dinner?
Friar Carl: Night cap[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 07:08 am (UTC)
That doesn't always make much of a difference.

Oh, any time you care to cook!
Havoc: Quiet Surge[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 07:09 am (UTC)
Ah, when all these curses are over, perhaps.
Friar Carl: Good-natured[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 07:17 am (UTC)
That would likely be best. You likely wouldn't appreciate it if my grandmother followed me to dinner.
Havoc: Softened[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 05:21 pm (UTC)
Well, it depends on if your grandmother is a nice woman.
Friar Carl: Default[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 10:04 pm (UTC)
She was a lovely woman, although she doesn't think much of the City.
Havoc: Laughing[info]letslip on February 7th, 2009 10:19 pm (UTC)
Smart woman.
Friar Carl: Dammit[info]somekindofsin on February 7th, 2009 10:37 pm (UTC)
Undeniably!
